"Linda King's Art, Books and Poetry" exhibit

venue: Blvkbook Art

where: Beverly Hills CA

when: June 2026

Dana Ellyn with Linda King along with Ellyn's painting of Linda King as a child.

The exhibition celebrated the life and work of sculptor, poet, and author Linda King, whose decades-long creative career has often been viewed through the lens of her relationship with writer Charles Bukowski.

For the exhibition, Dana Ellyn created a new body of work inspired by Linda King's memoirs, poetry, sculpture, and remarkable life.

Bringing together King's sculpture, poetry, books, and archival materials, the exhibition sought to highlight her own artistic legacy while acknowledging the literary and cultural history that connected the two artists.

Washington, DC artists Dana Ellyn and Matt Sesow were invited as guest artists to create new paintings inspired by King, Bukowski, and the stories surrounding their remarkable partnership. Their work offered contemporary interpretations of the people, objects, and moments that shaped King's life and career, creating a visual dialogue between past and present while honoring an artist whose influence continues to resonate with new generations.
